I'm still receiving error messages on startup that were not resolved - what now?

Sometimes viruses and worms place themselves on your startup execution list and automatic process fails to detect the now broken links, these links remain intact and are looked upon for execution - considering the files they link to no longer exist on your machine (and are broken).
