Fixing “0x0000007a” on Windows

If the 0x0000007a error is triggered by a bad sector on your hard drive, running the chkdsk tool will help in identifying and fixing the issue.

Follow these steps to run the chkdsk tool:

  1. Type cmd in the search box
  2. Right-click on Command Prompt from the results list
  3. Choose Run as Administrator
  4. In Command Prompt type:
    chkdsk C: /f /r

    Replace C: with the letter of the drive where Windows is installed.

  5. Hit Enter
